Well, buying that inspired me to see if my old reading chair which had been in that spot (a white slipcovered ikea tullsta that I had used to sit and read on exactly once in two years) might work out in that one problem area in the living room that I keep talking about. So I brought it over.
Not too bad. I am trying to decide if I want to dye the slipcover gray so I don't have to worry about getting the white dirty- might help quell some of my nerves about keeping it looking nice.
Next up is the slipcover for the brown and tan chair. I've cut my fabric pieces, just need to sew them together.
Not looking so slipcover-ish yet, but it's on its way!
With any luck I will get a chance to start sewing it all together this weekend or next. I am really liking how the living room is coming together. I definitely went through a lot of different visions for it in my head, so it is good that now that I have picked a direction I am feeling good about the outcome. Here are a couple more views of the room:
So nice to meet you! I can't wait to see your slipcover completed. I have slipcoverphobia meaning none of mine have (a)-ever turned out right or (b)-never were completed. Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteI am definitely putting it off at the moment! My excuse is school though, I recently returned to school part time on top of work, and the classes I am taking this summer are very fast paced- hopefully when they end I won't have any more excuses!
